Empiricism and Its Evolution: A Marxist View
This book aims to trace the evolution, filiations, and outcome of the empirical school from its origins in seventeenth-century England to come of its contemporary manifestations in theory and practice. It will investigate the source of its strength and successes along with the reasons for its failings and enfeeblement. This survey should clarify the necessity for the replacement of empiricism by a more correct and comprehensive philosophy—dialectical materialism, which has assimilated the truths taught by empiricism but overcome the inherent defects of its central tenets.
